How to cut the LED strips

The LED strip is a lighting element that allows almost infinite arrangement possibilities. However, different solutions require the use of different strip lengths. It is often necessary to cut the strip to the correct length. How to cut the LED strip so as not to damage it?

Each LED strip can be cut to the required length. In the case of strips with a voltage of 12V, the places of cuts occur every 3 LED diodes, while in strips with a voltage of 24V, the places of cuts occur every 6 LED diodes. The distance between the cuts depends on the type of diode and the thickness of the strip.

The cut line occurs in places with copper plates. On some strips, this line is additionally marked with a scissors symbol. After cutting the strip, the copper plates allow the resulting pieces to be connected with a cable or, if necessary, with another piece of the strip. Special connectors are used to connect the strips, enabling the strips to be connected in a straight line or at an angle. The tapes can also be soldered.
